40. Brenna Yovanoff, The Replacement -- an interesting and unusual take on the "urban fantasy with fairies" genre I really enjoy. This one's even darker than the Tithe and Wicked Lovely universes, although it does get a sort of happy ending after the darkness. ( MAJOR SPOILERS )

Seanan McGuire, Rosemary and Rue -- I think this is another case where my expectations for the book were too high (mostly thanks to the extreme devotion of Toby's supporters on chickfight), and so I ended up liking it less than I would have than if I'd come to it "cold". 63. Lois McMaster Bujold, A Civil Campaign -- I love this book! It was the first Vorkosiverse book I read, and, without knowing anything about this bevy of characters prancing around, or the setting, or the history, or anything, it hooked me completely on the cast and the universe and the series. ( I adored it then, and I adore it now (Spoilery, but it's a love story, so...) )
